Bitomax Membrane
Bitomax is a waterproofing membrane offered in rolls of plastomer-modified bitumen (APP) that is highly flexible and offers superior resistance to water and weathering.
Overview
Bitomax membrane is a modern waterproofing material characterized by its advanced formula that provides buildings with effective and long-lasting protection against water leaks and moisture. It is used in numerous construction applications such as roofs, foundations, basement walls, and tunnels, and is distinguished by its high strength and flexibility, making it suitable for various climatic conditions and construction sites.
Technical specifications
BETUMAX Membrane features a high-performance formula designed to provide exceptional waterproofing results.
It is manufactured from Atactic Polypropylene (APP) modified bitumen, reinforced with a high-density polyester non-woven fabric to enhance mechanical strength and durability.
The product offers absolute resistance to water permeability, chemicals, acids, and light alkalis, while maintaining its integrity under high temperatures and UV exposure.
The bottom surface is covered with a heat-fusible polyethylene film for efficient and rapid installation, with various top finishing options available (Sand, Slate/Granules, or Aluminum Foil) to suit diverse engineering requirements.

How to use and apply
1. Surface Preparation
Clean the surface thoroughly from dust, oils, and impurities.
Ensure the surface is completely dry and free from stagnant water.
Level any irregularities or cracks using suitable repair mortar.
2. Applying the Primer Layer (Bituminous Primer)
Coat the surface with a bituminous primer (such as Sirotect 1 or Siroplast).
Allow the primer to dry completely before installing the membrane.
This layer ensures effective adhesion between the membrane and the surface.
3. Unrolling the Membrane
Carefully unroll the BETUMAX Membrane over the surface.
Ensure rolls are aligned with a minimum overlap of 10 cm.
Cut the rolls to the required dimensions using a sharp knife.
4. Heat Welding (Torching)
Weld the roll edges and overlaps using a gas torch or a specialized welding machine.
Apply adequate pressure during welding to ensure no voids or leaks remain.
Visually inspect the seams or perform a water test to ensure full sealing.
5. Final Fixing & Protection
Press the membrane using a heavy roller to ensure full surface adhesion.
In vertical or sloped areas, use mechanical fixings or additional adhesives.
Apply a protection layer (Protection Board/Cartonal, Sand, Tiles, or Concrete) according to project requirements.
Product features
Superior Waterproofing: Excellent resistance to water leakage and moisture, even under challenging conditions.
