Hollow cement block 15×20×40 cm
It is a common building unit that combines strength and lightness.
Overview
Hollow cement blocks measuring 15 x 20 x 40 cm are among the best choices for modern construction.
They combine strength with lightness, making them easy to handle during installation.
Their hollow design enhances thermal and acoustic insulation.
Technical specifications
Dimensions: 15 x 20 x 40 cm
Classification: Hollow cement block
Features two internal cavities to reduce weight and improve thermal and acoustic insulation.
High density provides excellent compressive strength.
Made from a high-quality homogeneous mixture of cement, sand, and water.
Resistant to moisture and various weather conditions.
Suitable for use in interior and exterior walls.
Areas of use
Used in various construction projects, whether for residential or commercial buildings.
Ideal for dividing interior spaces and creating partition walls.
Reliable for constructing facades and exterior walls.
Offers practical solutions for projects requiring lightweight yet highly stable materials.
Suitable for construction in areas requiring robust thermal and acoustic insulation.
Used in structures designed to reduce load on foundations without compromising structural integrity.
How to use and apply
1. Site Preparation
Level the ground or foundation to ensure a perfectly flat surface.
Clean the site from dust, oils, and construction debris.
Prepare the cement mortar with the appropriate mix ratio (typically 1:4 cement to sand).
2. Block Laying
Lay the blocks on a mortar bed with a thickness of 1–2 cm.
Ensure staggered joints (bonding pattern) to maintain structural integrity.
Use a spirit level to check both horizontal alignment and verticality (plumb).
Gently tap the blocks with a rubber mallet to ensure firm seating.
3. Filling Gaps and Voids
Fill all vertical and horizontal joints thoroughly with mortar.
Internal voids can be filled with insulation materials (Polystyrene, Foam, or Rockwool) as required.
For load-bearing walls, reinforce the voids with steel bars and fill them with concrete (grouting) where structurally necessary.
4. Finishing
Allow the blockwork to cure for 24–48 hours before starting the plastering process.
Apply an initial "spatter dash" (rough cast) layer followed by the final plaster coat.
Cure the walls with water for at least 3 days to ensure full strength and hydration.
Product features
It features high rigidity, giving it excellent load-bearing and stress-resistance capabilities.
Its hollow design helps reduce the overall weight of the building.
It provides effective thermal and acoustic insulation, enhancing building comfort.
It is resistant to moisture and weathering, extending its lifespan.
Its precise dimensions facilitate installation and finishing.
It contributes to lower construction costs thanks to its ease of transport and rapid installation.
Storage and shelf life
Store the block in a level, dry place away from moisture and water sources.
Cover it with tarpaulin or a protective material to shield it from rain and direct sunlight.
